Sweet Ice Cream Fun-Fold Thank You Card

Thank you for visiting my blog! And thank you for voting for my card in Kylie Bertucci's April International Blog Highlights--it came in #9!! I am happy to be able to participate in Kylie's Top Ten Winners Hop again, and am honoured to be part of a group of such talented designers from all over the world. If you haven't seen my "Top Ten" card, it is posted at the bottom of this blog entry.

I used products from the Ice Cream Corner Suite for this fun-fold card. I love the colours in this piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP)! I also used the soon-to-be-retired Stitched Shapes Dies, Layering Ovals Dies, and Layering Squares Dies. I am REALLY sad that these are going!!! Be sure to order them before they are sold out!

I cut an 11" x 4-1/4" Bermuda Bay card base, and scored it at 5-1/2". Then I wrapped a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of the DSP with 6" of Sheer Pool Party Ribbon (coloured with a Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blends), adhered it to the back with glue dots, and then attached the layer to the card base. Two 5-1/4" x 4" pieces of Basic White cardstock were adhered to the inside of the card--one on each side.

Next, I cut an 11" x 1-3/8" piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock, scored it at 5-1/2", then flipped it over and scored at 2-3/4" and 8-1/4". This was folded accordion style. With the centre fold upwards ("mountain style"), the left edge of first section of the strip is centred top to bottom, and glued even with the left edge of the Basic White (NOT the edge of card!), and the right edge of the fourth section to right edge of the Basic White--the centre two sections will pop up at the middle.

I diecut four 2-1/8" stitched squares (using Stitched Shapes Dies)--two Basic White, and two DSP. On one of the white squares, I stamped the sentiment with Bermuda Bay, and on the other, I glued a cone punched (using the Ice Cream Builder Punch) from the waffle cone DSP, and added a stamped and punched ice cream scoop (stamped-off Bermuda Bay, and full-strength sprinkles--both from the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set). All four squares were adhered to Bermuda Bay scalloped squares, cut from our Layering Squares Dies, and then glued to the 1-3/8" strip, being careful to glue the second and third squares ONLY to the raised strip (not to the Basic White pieces inside the card).

The sentiment is stamped in Bermuda Bay on the largest Stitched Shapes oval. The popsicle stick is stamped on the label (in Crumb Cake), and the popsicle is stamped in Bermuda Bay (full-strength for the bottom, and stamped-off for the top; with the texture circles in full-strength ink), cut out, and popped up with Dimensionals. The label is glued to the Bermuda Bay scalloped oval (cut with Layering Ovals Dies), and adhered to the card front with Dimensionals. A bow made from Pool Party Sheer Ribbon, coloured with Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blends, is attached with a glue dot. Three Rhinestone Basic Jewels complete the card.

Here is my card that was voted into the Top Ten in Kylie's International Highlights Blog.
