Blog Hop Touches of Ink April 2021

Hello! I am so excited that I have been invited to participate in the Simone Klein's Touches of Ink Blog Hop, which is based in Germany!! This is the second month that this international blog has been active, and I feel privileged to be part of a group of such talented designers!! You have probably just come from Christiane Knapp's blog here: StempelPalast

Our blog this month features the Ice Cream Corner Suite. This is a fun one, and now that we in the Northern Hemisphere are finally getting some warmer weather, it's a perfect bundle to choose. As my grandson says, "Gramma, it's a great day for ice cream!!" 🍦😊

So, although my card doesn't really show any ice cream, I am using the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set, as well as our Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper (DSP). I love the colours in the paper I used! To start, I cut a 9" x 4-1/4" piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock, and scored it at 5-1/2". I cut two pieces of Pool Party cardstock (3-1/4" x 4" and 1-3/4" x 4"), and embossed them with our Tasteful Textile embossing folder. The smaller piece was adhered to the right hand side of the inside card, and the larger one to the left side of the card front, making sure that the borders around both pieces were even. I cut two pieces of DSP, one 3" x 3-3/4", and 1-1/2" x 3-3/4". These were centred over the Pool Party pieces, and glued with Seal.

The Basic White label was cut with the largest oval from our Stitched Shapes Dies (sadly, this is retiring!), and then stamped in Bermuda Bay with the sentiment from our Sweet Ice Cream stamp set. I stamped the small circles with Old Olive (stamped off--second generation stamping) and Pool Party (full strength). This was then glued to a Bermuda Bay scalloped oval cut with the largest Layering Ovals Dies (this set is also retiring 😢). I cut another piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock 5" x 1", and embossed it with our Tasteful Textile embossing folder. Then I cut the ends with our Lovely Labels Pick a Punch. I centred this on the card and glued it to only the left side of the card.

I added the sentiment label to the banner with Dimensionals (being careful to just have it on the banner). I used 17" of our Sheer Pool Party 3/8" Ribbon, and tied it vertically around the card and into a bow. To finish the outside of the card I added three Basic Rhinestone Jewels.

I cut a 3-1/4" x 4" Basic White piece for the inside of the card, and then stamped a few circles in Pool Party and stamped-off Old Olive in the top left and bottom right corners for the inside of the card.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog! I hope you'll take a moment to leave a comment. Then be sure to visit all the other hops on the blog to see some lovely creations!!

    1. Thank you, Liane! The DSP is actually one of the papers in the package of Ice Cream Corner DSP--so it's even easier! 😊
