Sweet Ice Cream Fun-Fold Thank You Card

Thank you for visiting my blog! And thank you for voting for my card in Kylie Bertucci's April International Blog Highlights--it came in #9!! I am happy to be able to participate in Kylie's Top Ten Winners Hop again, and am honoured to be part of a group of such talented designers from all over the world. If you haven't seen my "Top Ten" card, it is posted at the bottom of this blog entry.

I used products from the Ice Cream Corner Suite for this fun-fold card. I love the colours in this piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP)! I also used the soon-to-be-retired Stitched Shapes Dies, Layering Ovals Dies, and Layering Squares Dies. I am REALLY sad that these are going!!! Be sure to order them before they are sold out!

I cut an 11" x 4-1/4" Bermuda Bay card base, and scored it at 5-1/2". Then I wrapped a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of the DSP with 6" of Sheer Pool Party Ribbon (coloured with a Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blends), adhered it to the back with glue dots, and then attached the layer to the card base. Two 5-1/4" x 4" pieces of Basic White cardstock were adhered to the inside of the card--one on each side.

Next, I cut an 11" x 1-3/8" piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock, scored it at 5-1/2", then flipped it over and scored at 2-3/4" and 8-1/4". This was folded accordion style. With the centre fold upwards ("mountain style"), the left edge of first section of the strip is centred top to bottom, and glued even with the left edge of the Basic White (NOT the edge of card!), and the right edge of the fourth section to right edge of the Basic White--the centre two sections will pop up at the middle.

I diecut four 2-1/8" stitched squares (using Stitched Shapes Dies)--two Basic White, and two DSP. On one of the white squares, I stamped the sentiment with Bermuda Bay, and on the other, I glued a cone punched (using the Ice Cream Builder Punch) from the waffle cone DSP, and added a stamped and punched ice cream scoop (stamped-off Bermuda Bay, and full-strength sprinkles--both from the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set). All four squares were adhered to Bermuda Bay scalloped squares, cut from our Layering Squares Dies, and then glued to the 1-3/8" strip, being careful to glue the second and third squares ONLY to the raised strip (not to the Basic White pieces inside the card).

The sentiment is stamped in Bermuda Bay on the largest Stitched Shapes oval. The popsicle stick is stamped on the label (in Crumb Cake), and the popsicle is stamped in Bermuda Bay (full-strength for the bottom, and stamped-off for the top; with the texture circles in full-strength ink), cut out, and popped up with Dimensionals. The label is glued to the Bermuda Bay scalloped oval (cut with Layering Ovals Dies), and adhered to the card front with Dimensionals. A bow made from Pool Party Sheer Ribbon, coloured with Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blends, is attached with a glue dot. Three Rhinestone Basic Jewels complete the card.

Here is my card that was voted into the Top Ten in Kylie's International Highlights Blog.

Blog Hop Touches of Ink April 2021

Hello! I am so excited that I have been invited to participate in the Simone Klein's Touches of Ink Blog Hop, which is based in Germany!! This is the second month that this international blog has been active, and I feel privileged to be part of a group of such talented designers!! You have probably just come from Christiane Knapp's blog here: StempelPalast

Our blog this month features the Ice Cream Corner Suite. This is a fun one, and now that we in the Northern Hemisphere are finally getting some warmer weather, it's a perfect bundle to choose. As my grandson says, "Gramma, it's a great day for ice cream!!" 🍦😊

So, although my card doesn't really show any ice cream, I am using the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set, as well as our Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper (DSP). I love the colours in the paper I used! To start, I cut a 9" x 4-1/4" piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock, and scored it at 5-1/2". I cut two pieces of Pool Party cardstock (3-1/4" x 4" and 1-3/4" x 4"), and embossed them with our Tasteful Textile embossing folder. The smaller piece was adhered to the right hand side of the inside card, and the larger one to the left side of the card front, making sure that the borders around both pieces were even. I cut two pieces of DSP, one 3" x 3-3/4", and 1-1/2" x 3-3/4". These were centred over the Pool Party pieces, and glued with Seal.

The Basic White label was cut with the largest oval from our Stitched Shapes Dies (sadly, this is retiring!), and then stamped in Bermuda Bay with the sentiment from our Sweet Ice Cream stamp set. I stamped the small circles with Old Olive (stamped off--second generation stamping) and Pool Party (full strength). This was then glued to a Bermuda Bay scalloped oval cut with the largest Layering Ovals Dies (this set is also retiring 😢). I cut another piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock 5" x 1", and embossed it with our Tasteful Textile embossing folder. Then I cut the ends with our Lovely Labels Pick a Punch. I centred this on the card and glued it to only the left side of the card.

I added the sentiment label to the banner with Dimensionals (being careful to just have it on the banner). I used 17" of our Sheer Pool Party 3/8" Ribbon, and tied it vertically around the card and into a bow. To finish the outside of the card I added three Basic Rhinestone Jewels.

I cut a 3-1/4" x 4" Basic White piece for the inside of the card, and then stamped a few circles in Pool Party and stamped-off Old Olive in the top left and bottom right corners for the inside of the card.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog! I hope you'll take a moment to leave a comment. Then be sure to visit all the other hops on the blog to see some lovely creations!!

Last Chance Products Card

Welcome to the West Coast Creators Blog Hop!! And thank you very much for visiting my blog! This month, we are featuring some Last Chance Products--I am sad to see many of my favourite products leaving! My card this month uses the retiring High Tide, a stamp set that I have used a lot over the past few years! Two more favourites, our Well Written Dies and Rococo Rose (as well as the rest of the 2019-2021 In Colors) are also retiring (sigh!! 😢).

So, this card was made with a combination of older and new products. It is a variation of a card I designed for Kylie Bertucci's April International Highlights Blog (see my April 5 blog post). I started by tearing across the top of a Post-It Note, and sticking it over the bottom of a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Shimmery White Cardstock (this would later become the grass), and used the smallest Layering Circles die to cut another Post-It Note as a sun. Starting at the bottom and working upwards, I used our Blending Brushes to add colours from the ink pads--Blushing Bride, Rococo Rose, Highland Heather, Balmy Blue, and ending with Pacific Point at the top. I removed the circle Post-It note, and went over the sun with a bit of Balmy Blue, so it wasn't a stark white colour.

I removed the Post-It note from the bottom, stuck the remaining top of the note (the torn off part) along the edge, and coloured the grass with some Old Olive ink and a Blending Brush. Then I stamped the lighthouse image from High Tide in  Night of Navy, and filled in the lighthouse by blending the colour with a Blender Pen. I added some texture by stamping (from High Tide) the sand with Crumb Cake, stamped the grass in Old Olive, and mounted this layer on a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" layer of Pacific Point cardstock. The sentiment was cut from Pacific Point cardstock (with a piece of Adhesive Sheet on the back) with one of our Well Written Dies, and then adhered it to the card.

Night of Navy ink was used to stamp the birds, and a large Basic Rhinestone Jewel was added to the lighthouse to finish the card. The card base is an 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" piece of Rococo Rose cardstock, scored at 4-1/4", which is matted with a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" Pacific Point layer.

Be sure to order your Last Chance products soon--available until May 3rd, or while quantities last!

Thanks very much for visiting my blog! I hope you'll leave a comment before you visit the other hops in the blog. You'll see some beautiful creations!!

Dragonfly Garden/Brilliant Wings Thank You Card

Update: Thank you to all of you who voted for my card--it was voted #9, so I will be participating in the Top Ten International Highlights Winners Blog Hop that takes place Monday, April 26th. Yay!!!

Hello, and thank you for visiting my blog! It is time for Kylie Bertucci's April Monthly International Blog Highlights contest, and I would like to ask for your vote, please! If you like my card, please click on the button below to go to Kylie's blog, and vote for me by clicking on the top right corner of the thumbnail of my card (#5), until you see the heart turn red. Thank you for your support!!

My card this month features the Dragonfly Garden stamp set and the gorgeous Brilliant Wings Dies. I thought that these two sets went well together, especially when I could use our Blending Brushes to create a sky background. I started with a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Shimmery White Cardstock. I tore a Post-It Note and attached it over the bottom of the card (this would later become the grass), and used the smallest Layering Circles die to cut another Post-It Note as a sun. Starting at the bottom and working upwards, I used the Blending Brushes to add colours--Blushing Bride, Rococo Rose, Highland Heather, Balmy Blue, and ended with Pacific Point at the top. I removed the circle Post-It note, and went over it with a bit of Balmy Blue, so it wasn't a stark white colour.

I removed the Post-It note from the bottom, and coloured the grass with some Old Olive and a Blending Brush. Then I stamped the flower image from Dragonfly Garden with Memento, and filled in the leaves over the sky with a Light Old Olive Stampin' Blends. I added some stamped grass (from High Tide) in Old Olive, and mounted this layer on a 4" x 5-1/4" layer of Pacific Point cardstock. I painted the flowers (and flower centres) with a White Stampin' Chalk Marker, and then coloured the centres with a Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends.

I wanted to use some Pacific Point ribbon, but we don't carry that, so I cut a 16" length of our Sheer Pool Party ribbon, and coloured it with a Stampin' Blends in Light Night of Navy. This was wrapped around the two layers, and tied into a bow. The sentiment (also from Dragonfly Garden) was stamped in Memento.

The card front was adhered to an 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" (scored at 4-1/4") piece of Highland Heather cardstock. Finally, I added three Rhinestone Basic Jewels and a Pacific Point butterfly cut out with one of our Brilliant Wings dies. I glued only the body part with liquid glue, and folded the wings up a bit.

Thanks so much for stopping by--and for voting!!! If you like my card, please vote for it with the link below--then please remember to click on the top right corner of the thumbnail of my card (#5) until the heart turns red--that way you know that your vote is registered:

Thank you very much for visiting my blog, and for your support!! 😊
