Waves of Inspiration Thank You Card #3 - Kylie Bertucci's Top Ten Winners' Blog

 

Hello, and thanks for visiting my blog! And thank you VERY much for voting my card into the Top Ten in Kylie Bertucci's August International Blog Highlights competition!! I am so excited to be considered part of a group of such amazing designers from all over the world, and to have been invited to participate in the Top Ten Winners' Hop again! (I am posting my winning card at the bottom of this blog entry, in case you didn't see it.)

The Waves of Inspiration stamp set and Waves Dies are favourites of mine, but I haven't played with them for a while! I made a similar card to this quite some time ago. I thought this time that I'd combine some Blending Brush backgrounds with our new Holographic Trio Specialty Paper.

The specialty paper comes with two silvery sheets, and one that is a gorgeous ombré that blends from Starry Sky at one end into a Berry Burst colour at the other side. There are two of each pattern, so six sheets in a package. My photos don't do it justice! (Nor does my YouTube video--it looks crazy on camera!)

Little Dreamers Baby Card #3--Coast to Coast Creators Blog Hop--Sketch Challenge

Our Little Dreamers stamp set makes really cute baby cards!

Welcome to our August Coast to Coast Creators Blog Hop! This month we are featuring cards made using a sketch challenge! I love using a sketch--it makes it so much easier to design a card!

Well, for someone who's not overly fond of "cutsie" stamp sets, I am having a lot of fun making cards with our Little Dreamers stamp set--it makes such cute baby cards! I used a Lemon Lime Twist and Basic Black colour combination, and added our Black & White 1/4" Gingham Ribbon.

Here's the sketch that we used for this month's blog.

I stamped the calf in Tuxedo Black Memento, and then coloured it with Basic Black and Petal Pink Stampin' Blends. The DSP is our Glorious Gingham 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, and the embellishments are from the Tinsel Gems Four-Pack.

You probably know that I really like ocean-themed cards. I hadn't designed a card using our Waves of Inspiration stamp set in a while, and I wanted to try it using two of our returning colours--Pretty Peacock and Lost Lagoon.

I heat embossed the wave, and then added colour to it with our Small Blending Brushes. The card was quite quick and easy to make!
