Hello, and thanks for visiting my blog! And thank you VERY much for voting for my card--it placed first in Kylie Bertucci's June International Blog Highlights competition!! I am so excited to be considered part of a group of such amazing designers from all over the world, and to have been invited to participate in the Top Ten Winners' Hop again! (I am posting my winning card at the bottom of this blog entry, in case you didn't see it.)
Playing in the Rain is such a cute stamp set! Living on the west coast of Canada, we are very familiar with rain! I used this set to make a Z-fold fun-fold thank you card. I'm happy with how it turned out.
Here is the card I submitted for this month's contest. Thanks again for voting it into first place! To see more photos and directions for the card below, click here.
- Cut the following layers:
- Night of Navy Cardstock: 11" x 4-1/4", scored at 5-1/2" and 2-3/4"; 2-1/2" x 3-1/4"
- Basic White Cardstock: 5-3/8" X 4-1/8"; 2-5/8" X 4-1/8"; 3" x 3-3/4" (die cut with largest rectangle Nested Essentials Dies; 2-1/4" x 1-1/2" (die cut with second smallest banner Nested Essentials Dies); 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" (die cut with largest circle Stylish Shapes Dies)
- White Center 12" x 12" Specialty Paper (Azure Afternoon): 5-1/4" x 4", 2-1/2" x 4"
- Emboss White Center paper with Raindrops Embossing Folder, and then gently sand the raised raindrops with a craft sanding block. Wrap 3-1/4" Night of Navy 3/8" bordered ribbon around narrow White Center paper, and adhere to back.
- Adhere Azure Afternoon layers to white mats and then to card base.
- Stamp sentiment in Azure Afternoon and adhere to top left corner with Stampin' Dimensionals.
- Stamp rabbit and colour with Stampin' Blends (Azure Afternoon, Smoky Slate, Petal Pink, Pool Party). Adhere to small Night of Navy layer. Attach left 1" to right side of front panel with Stampin' Dimensionals.
- Add three Tinsel Gems Three-Pack Misty Moonlight gems to card front.
- Adhere stitched white circle to inside of card, ensuring it can't be seen from the front.
A cute and happy card! Love it!
