Playing in the Rain Fun-Fold Thank You Card

Hello, and thanks for visiting my blog! And thank you VERY much for voting for my card--it placed first in Kylie Bertucci's June International Blog Highlights competition!! I am so excited to be considered part of a group of such amazing designers from all over the world, and to have been invited to participate in the Top Ten Winners' Hop again! (I am posting my winning card at the bottom of this blog entry, in case you didn't see it.)

Playing in the Rain is such a cute stamp set! Living on the west coast of Canada, we are very familiar with rain! I used this set to make a Z-fold fun-fold thank you card. I'm happy with how it turned out.

I used our White Center 12" x 12" Specialty Paper--it's awesome! It comes in five beautiful colours (Azure Afternoon, Lemon Lime Twist, Night of Navy, Berry Burst, and Fresh Freesia), and it has (as you probably guessed!) a white centre. I embossed the Azure Afternoon layers with the Raindrops Embossing Folder, and then used a craft sanding block (you could probably also use a fine sandpaper block, or an emery board) to gently brush it over the embossed raindrops, exposing the white centre. Easy-peasy! And very effective!

Here is the card I submitted for this month's contest. Thanks again for voting it into first place! To see more photos and directions for the card below, click here.

I'd love for you to comment below, if you have a moment. 😊 Then be sure to check out the other Top Ten Winners' cards!!

Little Dreamers Baby Card - Coast to Coast Creators June Blog Hop

Little Dreamers is perfect for creating baby cards!

Welcome to our June Coast to Coast Creators Blog Hop! This month we are featuring products from our new 2023 Annual Catalogue!

If you're a subscriber to my blog, you probably know that I am not really a fan of what I call "cutsie" stamp sets. The brand-new Little Dreamers set probably falls into that category... However, I just love this set, especially for baby cards. And I would probably call this whole set "stinkin' cute", which is a good thing!!

I stamped the elephant in Tuxedo Black Memento, and then coloured it with Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends. The DSP, which is also new, is our Subtles 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, and the new ribbon is Pool Party 3/8" Grosgrain Ribbon. The embellishments are from the Tinsel Gems Three-Pack (also new!).

Here's an updated card using our new Everyday Details Dies

If you have a moment, I'd love for you to leave a comment below! But first, be sure to check out the gorgeous creations below!!

If you are wondering about the Tahitian Tide rhinestones, I just coloured our regular rhinestones with Tahitian Tide Blends--awesome idea, hey?

Full Directions for My Oceanfront Fun-Fold Thank You Card:
  1. Cut the following layers:
    • Blueberry Bushel cardstock: 4-1/4" x 11", cut and scored as in the video tutorial
    • Basic White cardstock: 2-5/8" x 4-3/8"; 5/8" x 4-3/8" (two of these for side panels); 4-1/8" x 7/8" (for sentiment); 4" x 4-1/4" (for inside)
  2. Score and burnish card base as shown in video tutorial (also see diagram below).

  4. Stamp side panels, moving sky, etc. up one inch higher, so they match the centre panel (because of the way the card folds). You will need to stamp the sand in two or three parts.
  5. Stamp short grasses in Old Olive, and tall grasses in Mossy Meadow. Stamp side panels, as well.
  6. Add texture to sand with Crumb Cake.
  7. Cut 12" of white twine, and colour it with the Tahitian Tide Blends. Wrap around the centre panel and tie into a bow. Adhere centre and side panels to card base.
  8. Stamp sentiment (from Dainty Delight) in Blueberry Bushel; adhere to bottom of card front.
  9. Use Tahitian Tide Blends to colour three Rhinestone Basic Jewels, and add to card front.
