Pretty Prints Thank You Card

Hi there, and thanks for visiting my blog! And thank you so much for voting for my card--it placed tenth in Kylie Bertucci's October International Blog Highlights competition!! I am honoured to be in a group of such talented designers from all over the world, and to have been invited to participate in the Top Ten Winners Hop again. (I have posted my winning card at the bottom of this blog entry, in case you haven't seen it.)

Pretty Prints Thank You Card

I hadn't used my Pretty Prints Designer Series Paper (DSP) in quite a while, so decided to pull it out to make this month's Top Ten Winners card. These prints really are so pretty, and it was tough to choose what colour to use. I decided to use one of the Evening Evergreen prints for this card.

The trees were die cut with our Majestic Mountains Dies, and I used Stylish Shapes Dies for the sentiment label and the stitched frame. I hadn't used my Snowflake Specialty Vellum yet, and thought it would be perfect for this card! What do you think?

Here is the card I submitted for this month's contest. Thanks again for voting it into the Top Ten! To see more photos and directions for the card below, click here.

Full Directions for My Pretty Prints Thank You Card:
  1. Cut the following layers:
    • Evening Evergreen cardstock: 8-1/4" x 4-1/4", scored at 5-1/2"; 2-3/4" x 2-3/4"; 3" x 3" (die cut frame with two largest Stylish Shapes squares, then die cut two trees using Majestic Mountains trees dies from the leftover inside part of the frame)
    • Soft Succulent cardstock: 5-1/4" x 4"; 2-1/2" x 4"; 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" (stamp Penguin Place sentiment in Evening Evergreen, die cut with smallest Stylish Shapes circle)
    • Pretty Prints 12" x 12" DSP: 2-1/4" x 3-3/4"
    • Snowflake 12" x 12" Specialty Vellum: 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" (flocked dots)
  2. Adhere largest piece of Soft Succulent to inside of card; adhere medium piece to front of card.
  3. Adhere DSP to card front.
  4. Adhere the vellum piece to the back of the stitched frame, with flocked dots to front. Adhere framed piece to square piece of Evening Evergreen (glue only the perimeter of the square). With the card closed, place the framed square at the centre of the card, and then adhere only the left hand side of the square to the DSP layer. Glue the trees so they touch the bottom of the inside of the frame.
  5. Attach the sentiment with a Dimensional.
  6. Add three Fine Sparkle Adhesive-Backed Gems to card front.

I'd love for you to comment below, if you have a moment. 😊 Then be sure to check out the other Top Ten Winners' cards!!

Joyful Flurry Christmas Card

Welcome to our October Coast to Coast Creators Blog Hop! We are getting into the Christmas spirit this month, and are showing you some of our holiday creations!

I used our Joyful Flurry stamp set to create this card, and added a touch of shine by adding silver embossing and a stitched frame of silver foil.

I also used our Sun Prints Designer Series Paper, and then created two versions with different colours. Interestingly, I used two pieces of the same sheet of DSP--one side was Orchid Oasis, and the other side was Starry Sky. You will see that this is a quick and easy card to make--why not give it a try? Full directions and shopping links are listed below.

Full Directions for My Joyful Flurry Christmas Card:
  1. Cut the following layers:
    • Pacific Point (or Starry Sky) cardstock: 5-1/2" x 8-1/2"--score at 4-1/4"
    • Silver Foil SpecialtyPack: 5-1/4" x 4" (cut frame with two largest Stitched Rectangles dies)
    • Sun Prints DSP: 5-1/8" x 3-3/4"
  2. Wipe DSP with Embossing Buddy to remove any oils from paper. Stamp snowflakes and sentiment on DSP with Versamark. Add silver embossing powder and set with Heat Tool.
  3. Adhere foil frame to DSP layer.
  4. Adhere to card base.
  5. Add three Polished Dots to card front.
