Inspired Thoughts Masculine Card

Thanks for stopping by, and welcome to our June West Coast Creators Blog Hop!! This month we are featuring masculine cards. These will be great for Father's Day, for birthdays, or "just because".

My card is a variation on a card I made in May for our West Coast Creators new Annual Catalogue swap. This time, I used a centre-step fun-fold technique that I learned in Ange McKay's Technique Club. You can see the previous fun-fold card I designed (another masculine card) here

I chose to use our Inspired Thoughts bundle. I started with a piece of 3-7/8" x 4-3/8" of Shimmery White Cardstock, and added colour with our Blending Brushes--Highland Heather, Balmy Blue, and Pacific Point. I then cut a 7/8" strip from the right edge and the left edge. I stamped some of the flowers from Dragonfly Garden in Mossy Meadow on the right strip, and grass from Friends are Like Seashells, stamped in Old Olive, on the left strip. I stamped the birds (from Sailing Home) with Basic Gray--one on the left panel, and two on the right panel.

I cut the trees from Evening Evergreen cardstock with the Inspiring Canopy Dies. I used adhesive sheets on the back, which made it quick and easy to adhere to the background. I added an embossed (with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder) curved strip of Soft Succulent grass to the bottom of all three pieces, tied a bow with Linen Thread around the centre piece, and then adhered them to the three panels of the centre-step Evening Evergreen card base. The sentiment (from the Inspired Thoughts stamp set) was stamped on a 4-1/8" x 7/8" strip of Shimmery White cardstock in Evening Evergreen.

Blog Hop Touches of Ink June 2021

Hello, friends! Welcome to the June Touches of Ink Blog Hop, hosted by Simone Kleine. Perhaps you have just come from Liane Gorny's blog.

This month, we are featuring the Expressions in Ink Suite. I think this is probably my favourite suite in our new Annual Catalogue. The Designer Series Paper (DSP) in this suite is absolutely stunning, and shows gorgeous alcohol ink photos, many accented with streaks of gold. In fact, it is so beautiful that a piece of it glued on a card base with a sentiment would make a lovely card! The Artistically Inked stamp set is Distinktive, which means that it creates different opacities in a single stamped image.

The base of my card is a 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock, scored at 4-1/4". I adhered a 5-5/16" x 4-1/16" piece of Magenta Madness cardstock to the base, then added a 5-1/8" x 3-7/8" layer of DSP.

The rose images are stamped on Magenta Madness with Magenta Madness ink and then cut with our Artistic Dies; the leaves and small flowers are stamped on Basic White with Shaded Spruce and Magenta Madness, and then die cut, as well. I used two of the gold foil pieces from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera pack, then arranged the flowers, leaves, and foil pieces--popping up the large rose and two of the small flowers with Dimensionals.

The sentiment was stamped in Versamark, embossed with gold embossing powder, and then set with a heat tool. Three small Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added to the centres of the small flower.

Here is a photo of the Expressions in Ink Specialty DSP--it is even more beautiful when you see it in person!!

Expressions in Ink Thank You Card

Thank you for your support!!

I absolutely love our new Expressions in Ink Suite!! You may know that I really like watercolour and alcohol ink backgrounds. The Designer Series Paper (DSP) in this suite is absolutely stunning, and makes beautiful cards with very little effort.

I started with an 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base of Magenta Madness, and scored it at 4-1/4". Then I cut two pieces of DSP--2-1/2" x 5-1/4 (of the floral) and 2" x 5-1/4" (of the dark green), and cut the right side of the floral piece with one of the Scalloped Contours Dies. I adhered both pieces to the card base, layering the left so that it slightly overlapped the right piece.

A frame was cut with the largest Stitched Rectangles Die from a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Evening Evergreen cardstock, and glued over the DSP. The sentiment was stamped in Evening Evergreen on a scrap of Pale Papaya cardstock, die cut with the smallest Stitched So Sweetly Die.

I then die cut a piece of Gold Foil with one of the Artistic Dies, and adhered it to the DSP.

The beautiful Magenta Madness butterfly was cut with a Brilliant Wings die, and the body was adhered to the card. Three sequins from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack complete the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by--and for voting!!! If you like my card, please vote for it using the link below--then please remember to click on the top right corner of the thumbnail of my card (#5) until the heart turns red--that way you know that your vote is registered:
