Blog Hop Touches of Ink May 2021

Welcome to the May Touches of Ink Blog Hop!! This month we are featuring the Sweet Strawberry Bundle (Sweet Strawberry stamp set and Strawberry Builder Punch), which is perfect for us at this time of year! You have probably just come from seeing Petra Masukowitz's beautiful creation (Petma-Kreativ)!

The Sweet Strawberry stamp set just makes me feel like summer will be here soon! Since the Berry Blessings  Designer Series Paper (DSP) is no longer available, I made my own DSP. On a 5" x 4" piece of Basic White cardstock, I randomly stamped the outlines and fill colours of the strawberries, leaves, and flowers in Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green, and Petal Pink. Then I cut the paper into two 2-1/2" x 4" pieces. I adhered these to the two front panels of the card base—an 11" x 4-1/4" piece of Melon Mambo cardstock, scored at 5-1/2" and 2-3/4".

I cut a 5-1/2" x 1-1/2" piece of Granny Apple Green from the Brights 6" x 6" DSP, and used one of the Scalloped Contours Dies to cut the scalloped edge. I did the same with a 1-5/8" x 4" Melon Mambo piece from the same package of DSP, which I then glued to the right edge of the inside of the card. The Granny Apple Green piece was glued to the bottom of the card front, over my DSP.

The sentiment was stamped in Melon Mambo on Basic White, and then diecut with a Stitched So Sweetly Die. I added Dimensionals to the back of the label, and then adhered it to the right edge of the scalloped Melon Mambo DSP. This acts as a stopper to hold the right edge of the card, to keep it open when it stands up! How cool is that??

I glued a 3-5/8" x 4" piece of Basic White cardstock to the inside left of the card, and then stamped it with Granny Apple Green. I filled in the flowers with Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends, and the leaves with Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends. I added several Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the flower centres on the front of the card.
