The papers in our Sun  Prints 12" x 12" DSP (in shades of Pacific Point, Night of Navy, Starry Sky (one of our new colours!), and Gray Granite) are so gorgeous!! done!!

Step by Step Instructions for Making the Sun Prints Card:
  1. Cut the following layers:
    • Night of Navy cardstock: 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"; 3" x 1-1/4" (for sentiment--die cut with smallest Scalloped Contours label die)

    • Sun Prints Designer Series Paper: 3-5/16" x 4-5/8"
  2. Adhere DSP to Basic White Scalloped Contours layer with Stampin' Seal.
  3. Thread a 4" piece of Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon through the fourth loop from the bottom, and tape to the back of the card.
  4. Adhere the card front to Night of Navy card base with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  5. Stamp the sentiment on Night of Navy die cut label with Versamark; heat emboss with white embossing powder.
  6. Adhere sentiment label to card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  7. Tie a triple bow (loop around fingers three times, tie a knot around the centre) using white baker's twine, and adhere with a glue dot.

Oceanfront Waves of Inspiration Birthday Card--Sketch Challenge

Welcome to our April Coast to Coast Creators Blog Hop! This month we are showcasing a sketch challenge. I used our gorgeous Waves of the Ocean Designer Series Paper (DSP), as well as three stamp sets that all work beautifully together--Waves of Inspiration, Oceanfront, and On the Horizon.

I started with strips of Shimmery White Paper, and stamped the four images. I used a Blender Pen to blend the ink of the pelican outline, coloured the pilings with Stampin' Blends, and then used our Blending Brushes to colour the sky and sand. I adhered the images to a layer of Pacific Point cardstock with Stampin' Seal, and used my trimmer to get a 1/16" margin all around.

The sentiment was stamped in Pacific Point on Coastal Cabana cardstock, and then cut with a Waves die. I used the Very Vanilla Basic Essentials Twine to go through the sentiment, and taped the twine to the back of the piece of DSP. The Pacific Point was added to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Here’s the sketch we used for the challenge:

Thank you so much for your support!!

I absolutely love our Waves of the Ocean Collection!! The card I made this month is a variation of my March contest card and my March Top Ten Winners card, but made into an accordion fun-fold card, modified from a Mystery Stamping project we made in a team meeting. (You can see the original design in my February 28th blog post.) The background of this card uses our stunning Waves of the Ocean Designer Series Paper (DSP), which is available only while quantities last! See the shopping links below if you want to get any of these products, but don't wait! (The Rhinestone Waves Basic Jewels and Blue Foils Specialty Paper are already gone!)

Full Directions for My Card:
  1. Cut the following layers:
    • Pacific Point cardstock: 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" (card base); 11" x 3-1/2"--scored at 3-1/2" and 7-1/4"
    • Shimmery White cardstock: 10-3/4" x 3-1/4"
    • Waves of the Ocean Designer Series Paper (DSP): 11" x 5-1/4"--scored at 1-3/4", 3-1/2", 5-1/4", and 7"
    • Basic White cardstock: 4" x 5-1/4"
  2. Stamp the pelican in Smoky Slate near the right side of the Shimmery White piece. Colour the pilings with Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends, and colour the pelican in Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends.
  3. Stamp the wave with Versamark on the bottom left corner of the Shimmery White piece. Add white embossing powder and set with heat tool.
  4. Add ink to the wave with Blending Brushes (Coastal Cabana and Pacific Point).
  5. Cut a Post-it note to cover the sky and wave, and form the sandbank, and to mask the pilings and pelican (stamp on the Post-it note, and then cut out the shape). Apply ink to Shimmery White piece (Crumb Cake at top, then Sahara Sand) with a Blending Brush, and then stamp some texture (from Oceanfront) in Sahara Sand. Stamp the grasses in Mossy Meadow and Old Olive.
  6. Remove the sky Post-it notes (keep the pelican/pilings note attached) and cover the sand with "negative" of the sky Post-it notes. Cut a 1" circle (sun) from a Post-it note, and add to sky. Use Blending Brush to apply ink (Daffodil Delight, Pale Papaya, Pool Party, Balmy Blue, and Pacific Point) in overlapping circles around the sun, filling in all of the sky (mask the pelican and pilings with Post-it note). Stamp birds (from On the Horizon) in Basic Gray. Add another Post-it note, covering the sky, at the water line. Apply Coastal Cabana ink to water with Blending Brush, and then stamp with wave stamp in second generation (stamped-off) Pacific Point. Remove note from sun, and apply a small amount of Daffodil Delight ink to the white circle.
  7. Stamp "Thanks" sentiment (a partial stamp from On the Horizon) in Pacific Point at top left.
  8. Adhere Shimmery White piece to Pacific Point mat, so that the wave is over the 3-1/2" wide panel. Gently score to match, and gently burnish folds.
  9. Fold DSP accordion style (starting from right, "mountain", "valley", "mountain", "valley" with largest panel to the right), and gently burnish folds of DSP. Adhere to Pacific Point card base.
  10. Placing the widest panel of the DSP to your right (and all the smaller panels to the left), fit the right hand ("valley") fold of the Shimmery White card front snugly into the very right hand ("valley") fold of the DSP, with the top and bottom margins even, and adhere to the DSP. The right edge of the Shimmery White will be about 1/4" from the right edge of the card base.
  11. Fold the accordion panels into a stack, place the wave panel over top of the card, and adhere only the left edge of the card front to the first panel of the DSP.
  12. Add three Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
  13. Adhere Basic White cardstock to back of card for hand-written sentiment.
