Hello! Welcome to our August Coast to Coast Creators Blog Hop! This month we are creating cards inspired by a photo, which you can see below. I love to create backgrounds using Blending Brushes, and was excited to give this challenge a try!
I die cut a 1" circle with Stampin' Masking Paper, and added it and a 5" x 3" Post-it Note to a Basic White card layer to mask the sun/moon and the water. I also tore a small piece to mask the mountain.
Then I added colour with Blending Brushes, starting above the horizon--Petunia Pop, Gorgeous Grape, Coastal Cabana, and Azure Afternoon, leaving a bit of white for clouds.
I removed the large Post-it Note, added a tiny bit of Daffodil Delight to the sun/moon. Then I covered the sky, and repeated the process with Coastal Cabana, Azure Afternoon, and Blueberry Bushel. I left some white, to represent the reflection, and then added a tiny bit of Coastal Cabana to that, as well as some Basic Gray to the mountain. I stamped some birds and trees, and layered the card front onto a black mat and a Petunia Pop card base. I thought about adding a sentiment, but thought I liked the card as it is!
I'd love it if you have time to write a comment below. But first, be sure to check out my friends' beautiful creations below!!
So beautiful!
