Bruno Bertucci's Scrappy Strips Technique

UPDATE:  My card came in 14th out of 44!!  I thought that was pretty good for my first ever contest! Thank you so much for those of you who voted for me!!

In our Virtual Club, I taught our group Bruno Bertucci's Scrappy Strips Technique.  The technique was a real hit!  Coincidentally, my sister gave us a challenge to make three cards using only scraps. We all used this technique and came up with some beautiful cards.  If you like this card, please vote for it in Kylie Bertucci's contest here:  http://www.inlinkz.com/new/view.php?id=824187&fbclid=IwAR11u3ghsxdTVmYqIl9Y1gJm_hyehsoz-8NJTOCyfW2SHe-tkmdQsy9qUQs

Here is one that I made:

The card base is Pool Party cardstock, and the strips are mounted on Pretty Peacock.  I used the new Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper, our gorgeous Pool Party Sheer Ribbon, and several embossing folders (Hammered Metal, Subtle, Greenery, and Meadow Moments).  The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Greetings, and the tag is cut from Stitched So Sweetly.

This technique is a lot of fun, quick and easy, and a great way to use up those ever-accumulating scraps!!!

West Coast Creators Blog Hop June 2020

Welcome to my second West Coast Creators Blog Hop!!  I'm so excited to participate in this event, and to be part of such an amazing and supportive family!

I just love our new Forever Greenery suite!  The stamp set is AMAZING, because it is one of our "DistinktiveTM" ones--this means that it has a special texture that gives realistic depth and dimension to each image with just one step!!  The Pretty Peacock background of the card was embossed with one (of a set of two) of our new Greenery Embossing folders.  This was layered on a piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock, and then adhered to a Pretty Peacock card base.  The gold foil piece is from the gorgeous Forever Gold Laser-Cut paper.  The rest of the pieces are Forever Fern images stamped in Pretty Peacock and Pear Pizzazz, which were then diecut with Forever Flourishing Dies.  One image was diecut from Vellum Cardstock.  The sentiment (also from Forever Fern) is stamped on a Whisper White cardstock tag cut with Ornate Frames dies, and adhered to the gold piece using Dimensionals.  I love how this card turned out!

Look at the amazing detail and texture in the stamped images with this set--and it's all done with ONE step!  It's so easy to get such beautiful results!

Sailing Home Watercolour Background Card

Sailing Home is one of my favourite stamp sets to use when making masculine cards.  I used what I call a “Smooshed Saran Wrap” watercolour background technique that I learned from Amanda Fowler, a demonstrator in the UK.

For this card, I scrunched up a piece of Saran Wrap, added drops of ink in three different colours, added a few drops of Frost White Shimmer paint, and then "smooshed" the wrap a little to blend the colours.  Click on the link below the product list to get a free tutorial with all of the details and instructions.
